This ostrich production chain is located in Fars Province, Shiraz and covers an area of 20 hectares. 19 hectares of this unit are allocated to breeding, incubation and fattening sites, animal feeding factory for reproduction and fattening of 450 and 6000 ostrich birds respectively, as well as some supportive divisions with the potential to provide services for 10,000 birds.
The complex is the first national entity with a specialized IR certified ostrich slaughterhouse capable of delivering up to 300 slaughtered ostriches with halal slaughter code on them. The meat processing plants, pharmaceutical oil processing and packaging units, department of feather and skin processing (up to the pre-tanning stage) are among other divisions of the complex. The meat products of this complex are being released to the domestic markets under ILGAR brand name.
